Meet Lisa – Charity Coordinator ❤️
As the charity’s only paid member of staff, I lead the day-to-day running and development of New Start, working closely with our trustees, volunteers and supporters to maximise our impact and help the charity grow. I love connecting people, ideas and organisations to create positive change.
My role focuses on raising awareness of the incredible work New Start supports at Wythenshawe Hospital, developing new fundraising opportunities, building meaningful partnerships and creating opportunities for more people and organisations to get involved. Just as importantly, I want our patients and supporters to feel connected to the difference they’re making and to see the real impact of their generosity.
I’m very excited about what lies ahead as we continue to grow New Start Charity, reach more people and support the amazing heart and lung transplant community at Wythenshawe.

Meet Elise – Corporate Engagement Officer ❤️
As Corporate Engagement Officer at New Start, I’m passionate about connecting businesses with a cause that genuinely improves people’s lives.
Having gone through the experience of having a heart transplant in August 2025, I understand why New Start deserves recognition and funding to do what they do best, which is to support transplant patients.
My core role is to support New Start by creating engaging materials, building strong relationships with corporate partners, exploring new sponsorship opportunities, and encouraging involvement to support Wythenshawe Transplant Centre. Whether through fundraising, partnerships, or employee engagement, I aim to help turn corporate support into meaningful benefits for patients and their families.
Alongside my role, I am also a transplant athlete, participating in the English and World Transplant Games. I actively promote my journey and advice through social media platforms, spreading awareness of the importance of organ donation and life after transplant.
All has been made possible thanks to Wythenshawe Transplant Centre. Therefore, I am excited to be a part of the New Start Charity team.
