 Wythenshawe Hospital Transplant Centre

The Transplant Centre is one of only five national heart and lung transplant units in the UK, with a patient catchment area of over six million. In 2014 it carried out its 1000th transplant since its opening in 1986.

Outpatients

This is a purpose built, fully suited department which is designed so that transplant recipients may have most of their routine tests performed within the unit. This includes 3 consultation rooms, 2 clinic rooms and a biopsy suite. The Transplant Secretary and Clerk are based within the department. The department is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm.

Psychologist

The Transplant Unit has its team of Clinical Psychologists. Every Month they run a “Transplant Cafe”. We will publish dates as we have them.

Social Worker

The Transplant Social Workers are available every week day and are present in clinic for consultations. However, private consultations can be arranged away from the department (including home visits) if required. Please contact Bev or Laura  on 0161 291 2695
