The painting above was painted by Katie live on BBC Radio Lancashire on the Sally Naden Show in summer 2012. The Sally Naden Show features a panel of guests to contribute to topical discussion throughout the 2 hour daily show. Fortunately, Graham Brushett and Sean Bell (pictured here with Kaite) were co-panellists during National Transplant Week and met Katie just minutes before ‘going live’. It was a fascinating experience watching the painting transform from a blank canvas into the characterful and spirited artwork we see here. Katie’s family were also involved in the radio show and it was great to see the enormous support and encouragement that they have given Katie in her career.

Katie has a fresh individual approach and unique style to her work. Working primary with animals she focuses on the spirit of the animal she is portraying, capturing its pure character whether it is a pet or a wild creature.
